Dear Valois Park Parents:
The purpose of these notes is to highlight some of the abnormalities that have surfaced as a result of decisions leading up to and including the resolutions of January 12, 2006. We consider these to be just reason for the reconsideration of a number of the resolutions passed. We must stress the separation of school closings from immersion programming, as they are two independent issues. The contentions contained here relate to the organization and modification of immersion programs.
There were many areas where the school board appears to have overstepped their jurisdiction and/or broke the rules according to articles in the Education Act.
This action is not in conflict with the merger committee's work but is an opportunity to exercise your right to appeal these decisions.
